There is NO HOMEWORK To prepare for 2nd Quarter: Collect your ideas. Reference your skills in hand-building. Make plans to build a Structure/Home/Dwelling of some sort. You get to decide how you fulfill that theme. Requirements :
In Studio... Submission of your pieces via Jamboard and critique work. We will work in pairs to review your work. Be prepared to complete an art analysis and aesthetic scan of your classmates pieces and a personal critique.
We will have that second clay quiz this week. All building of your pieces should be complete and items on the kiln shelves to dry out. WORK, WORK, WORK... The Kiln will be fired this week so start this week by watching the videos below and start glazing your bisque pieces. Test out ideas with colors, But make sure to write down the recipe you use to glaze in your sketchbook on the pages of the project you originally designed. This is important so if you love how it turns out you can replicate it again or if you don't like it you know what to avoid next time. Vocabulary in Glazing:
Steps in Glazing
Lets review your ch 2 answers together at the beginning of the week and make sure we understand how to do the aesthetic scan. We will be having another quiz next week on clay so lets study together. In the mud room you should be finishing up your slab myth work this week so it can dry out and get in the kiln. We will load the kiln this week and talk about the safety that goes with a firing. Mostly this is a work week.
